Dear Readers,

Welcome to my newsletter. I have to admit that doing a monthly newsletter hasn’t been a top priority throughout my writing career. I never felt that people who read my books would be interested in the day to day workings behind the books. After all, when you live in a small rural community, there isn’t very much to talk about. Like most people, I work the sucky day job (or, in my case, the night job). In between punching someone else’s time clock, I take care of an ageing parent, and run a small ferret rescue. Occasionally, I write a book or two. When I am not working on all the above, I spend as much time as I can on my motorcycles. I like to call myself a triple threat, as I have a Harley, a Honda and a ZX-12R Ninja–the last of which makes me the fastest author on earth. So, in the coming months I’ll be here to chat about my bikes, my books and those pesky ferrets.

For those of you who are new to Devyn Quinn books, I’ve written for independent presses such as Ellora’s Cave, Samhain, Extasy Books and so many others, as well as Kensington and NAL/Penguin. I’ve even been nominated for the Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award (2 times) and won (for my 2009 erotic paranormal novel, Possession). In 2012, I had to put a stop to my writing to help care for a dying relative. Though the last 5 years, most of my NY and indy press titles have reverted back to me, and I am in the process of updating the text and re-releasing the books, as well as working on new ones. You might say I am attempting to breathe life back into my career as a writer. I admit-it is hard!

Right now, I have signed with a couple of independent presses to re-release some of my back-list. We’ve recently just put out a favorite of  mine, a paranormal BDSM novella, titled Personal Possessions.

A little about the story:

Nikki Malone meant to start the New Year off with a bang. What she didn’t plan on was starting it with a bullet in her hide.

After her boyfriend Sammy is killed in a drug heist gone bad, Nikki panics and flees. An unwilling fugitive on the run through the New Mexico Badlands, she’s wounded, lost and alone. But Nikki believes her bad luck is about to change. She’s got a backpack full of hot cash…and a chance to start her life over. That is, if she can make a clean getaway from the law.

Rising out of the white desert sands like a mirage is a town that’s not on any map. Its name is stark and simple: Helle. If she can stop and rest, Nikki believes she just might escape with her life–and the loot–intact.

Intrigued? This story is based on the song Hotel California, and if you have ever wanted to know what the song meant, now is your chance to find out! <G>
